Come down off the ledge folks. Those of you who haven't read the other thread properly, this is for you. SSR isn't shutting down, it's going to be under new management, which at this point will be Myself & Rockman, the original owner. The actual turnover to the "New SSR" should happen around the 20th of November. No worries, it'll still be the same domain, so if you type in SSR it will take you to the new one automatically.
What we're looking at however, is a(nother) forum reset. That's right, everyone will re-register, and the board will be clean for a fresh start. I will be archiving threads to carry over (Guides, charts & discussion) so no need to worry about all of that. Just stay tuned, stay calm & let us handle this. I repeat

Most of you already know this, but in two weeks, on November 20, our contract at our current host expires... and I don't plan on renewing it. Running this website for the past year has burnt a $600 whole in my pocket and I was hoping for donations to help it; but alas, things didn't work out so conveniently. The ShiShi-Rendan.Com domain still belongs to Rockman and Forte, so if they decide to create a new website in to replace this one, then I'm all for it. But myself, I don't really consider myself a part of this community anymore and I really don't have any interest in Ultimate Ninja Storm. So I'm saying goodbye to all of you and hope that I see you around some day; it has been a pleasant few years...
In case you care, I am running a new website dedicated to strictly Soulcalibur IV (www.8wayrun.com); it has already become the centralized home for the Soulcalibur IV competitive community. If you are interested in getting better at SC4, you can always give us a visit and look for indepth strat. We are running with a better host and we've already proven that we can handle 43 people at a single time in Flashchat without having any negative impact on the server. Alright, Narutimate Hero 3 has now officially been released in America, as Ultimate Ninja 3. This of course means that we’re going to have a large influx of new players in the coming weeks. Of course I’d like to welcome all of the new members arriving, and I hope that the veteran members can help them with whatever they need. Remember that NH3/UN3 is one of the cornerstones this site & community is built on.
To new members, I suggest that you read around the forums a bit & try to grasp an understanding of what is & isn’t acceptable here. I’ll remind you that this isn’t narutofan or gamefaqs. Be mature, be respectful, & you’ll be treated the same way. Act like a fool, and you’ll be treated like one. For the long standing members, be patient, and remember that while UN3 may not be new or interesting for you, it is for others.
Now, on the otherside of things, we have 3 events coming up this April! Team Crooked Jester’s Spring Major “Stop Hammertime” is April 12-13th, & will feature competitions for both NA2 & UN3, & other fighting games, so check the thread for more info. The weekend after that will be the NY Comic Convention @ The Javit’s Center in NYC. Namco Bandai will be sponsoring several UN3 tournaments from the 18th to the 20th, and will have the Ultimate Ninja Heroes 2 (PSP) demo on display. People were getting anxious about the new forums, so I've decided to open them up in advance. Pretty much everything should be working without issue, but if anyone notices any problems, be sure to send me a message about it. You may notice a few new scripts on the forums, such as the automatic embedding for video links, and other small changes. The flashchat has also been upgraded.
If you need to read the old forums, you can find them here: http://208.109.237.24/. Feel free to go back to them to collect information to populate various sections of this website. The old forums will disappear from the web on December 13 when the server gets deleted. However, let me state this right now; this should not be considered the oppurtunity to artificially inflate your post counts, especially in the character threads. I'm hoping our moderators will periodically clean up those threads by moving information to the top and then deleted extraneous posts.

Well, after a few minor hiccups with the new server over the past week, I have finally managed to get the new forums up! Our new server has double the RAM as our old server permitting it to handle many more users at a single time, which may be necessary once Narutimate Hero 3 comes out in America sometime in March, as well as the huge boost in traffic we will most certainly get when Narutimate Accel 2 comes out next month. I have secured this new server (as well as our backend data server) for an entire year and have payed $600 out of my own pocket to accomodate it. The donations from last year's server upgrade were inadequate... and when I mean inadequate, I mean non-existant. Not a single donation. So I'm hoping this year, we will have some philanthropic members.
So right now, the forums are up and open for registration; but all posting permissions have been locked and will remain locked until next week. For now, you may continue posting at the old forums: http://208.109.237.24/. As stated on the old forums, (which many people may have missed since they dont read the announcement threads) the forum has been reset for a series of specific issues. The biggest reason is because our host (GoDaddy) has decided to no longer support Fedora Core 4 Linux which is what our previous server was based upon; this forced me to upgrade to a new Fedora Core 7 Linux server in response.
